A short course (3h) on support vector machines and kernel methods for sequences and nodes of a graph, with a special emphasize on computational biology applications. The classical SVM setting is assumed to be known. This course contains a light introduction to molecular biology and genomics, and a few examples of applications of SVM in this context, in particular for biological sequence classification with string kernels.
