A short course with practical session (4h) to introduce support vector machine, kernels, and their relevance for problems in computational biology.
Practical sessions
The goal of this practical session is to learn how to manipulate support vector machines, understand how they work, play with kernels and parameters, and apply them to simulated data and to a real application of cancer diagnosis from gene expression data.
